Each hygiene packet contains enough items for a 1-month supply for a homeless girl/woman as well as other items to help them stay clean and prevent infections. We also try to include items to make sure they have additional items that they need and that are meaningful.
PROJECT DOT KITS INCLUDE:
In 2019 Project Dot delivered more than 1,500 kits to their partners. At the beginning of 2020, Project Dot was supplying 400 feminine hygiene kits a month to community partners in Southern Nevada.
However, when the COVID-19 crisis hit, Project Dot doubled that number to help meet the immediate need for those who were laid-off. By the end of 2020 Project Dot tracked the delivery of nearly 4,000 kits to those who need them, when they need them!
Project Dot is working hard to take the stigma out of women and girls and their menstrual cycles. Half of the population get their periods but in too many cultures, this is subject is taboo.
Project Dot’s leaders have been speaking out and raising awareness about this issue with local media, businesses and at conferences such as the National Charity League annual event where more than 400 women learned about how Project Dot was founded and its inspiration as well as at a local Las Vegas NCL meeting where they spoke to nearly 100 local mothers and teens.
